Can I transcribe a Zoom meeting if I'm not the host?

Yes. This tool listens through your microphone, so it captures whatever audio your laptop speaker is playing — the host doesn't need to enable anything and isn't notified. Just keep the meeting on your speakers (not AirPods) and your own mic does the rest.

Does Zoom have a free transcription feature?

Zoom's built-in transcription only works on Pro plans and above, and only when the host enables cloud recording. On the free plan you get nothing. This tool fills that gap: free, no host setup, works on any Zoom call you can join in a browser.

Is Google Meet transcript free?

Google Meet's native transcripts are limited to Workspace Business Standard and above — they're not available on free Google accounts or the cheaper paid tiers. This tool gives you a free transcript regardless of which plan the meeting host is on. Can I transcribe a Teams meeting without recording it?

Yes — that's exactly what this tool does. There's no Teams recording, no notification to other attendees, and no cloud upload of the audio. Your browser captures audio through your microphone (the meeting plays through your laptop speaker, the mic hears it), transcribes it locally with Whisper, and only the final text is ever sent off your machine (to generate the summary).

Where is my transcript saved? Do you store my audio?

We do not store your audio. Audio is captured by your browser and transcribed on-device — it never reaches our servers. Only the final text transcript is sent to our summarization endpoint, and only when you stop the recording. The transcript itself stays in the page (and is emailed to you only if you choose to send it).

How accurate is the AI transcription?

It uses OpenAI's Whisper model running locally in your browser, which is broadly considered state-of-the-art for free open-source speech recognition on clean English audio. Accuracy drops with heavy accents, multiple overlapping speakers, or poor audio quality — same as every other tool. For best results, use a single-speaker mic setup or a meeting where audio is shared cleanly.

Which meetings can I transcribe?

The tool captures audio from a browser tab. If your meeting plays in a tab, you can transcribe it. If it only runs in a desktop app, it's out of reach — that's an honest limitation, not a paywall.
