MCP is a shared standard that lets an AI app such as Claude or ChatGPT use outside tools. An email MCP server is one of those tools: it gives the app a way to search your mail, read a thread and draft a reply through your own account, so you work your inboxes from the chat instead of switching to Gmail or Outlook. Kai's server does that for every Gmail and Outlook inbox you've connected, and carries your calendar, meetings and tasks on the same connection.

Yes, two ways. Claude ships its own Gmail and Outlook connectors, one account each, so a second inbox means a second connector and a separate search. Kai is one connector for every Gmail and Outlook inbox you've connected to it: ask for Ana's last email and Claude searches your work Outlook and your personal Gmail in one call. The same connector also reads your calendar and your meeting recaps, which the mail connectors don't.

Yes, on any plan including the free one, once developer mode is on in Settings under Security and login. With it off, Kai installs, signs in and shows as connected, and then every request fails. The recordings on this page are ChatGPT sessions: Kai searched Outlook and Gmail and saved a draft. Sending from ChatGPT is untested, so we don't show it. Draft there, then send from Claude or from your mail app.

No. Kai creates a draft and shows it to you. Sending is a separate step that happens only when you say so, in the chat, and forwarding waits for the same word. Kai can't do anything else to your mail either: it doesn't mark messages read, star them, file, archive or delete. On your mailbox it searches, reads and drafts, and that's the whole list.

Gmail and Outlook, including Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 accounts, and several of each: a work Outlook, a personal Gmail and a client's Workspace all sit behind the one connector. Nothing else for now, so no IMAP accounts. Connect each inbox to Kai in the app first. The connector reaches whatever Kai can see, and nothing it can't.

A Gmail MCP reaches one Gmail. Kai's reaches every Gmail and Outlook inbox you've connected, through one approval, and it doesn't stop at mail: the same connection lists your calendar, pulls up the recap and action items of a meeting Kai sat in on, and adds tasks to your list. So the assistant can find the thread, check what you agreed on the call, and put the promise on your task list without switching connectors. Drafts come out in your voice because Kai reads how you've written to that person before.
